Alexandra and I are working on 9 offers over this past week … along with couple of leases… two short sales that were finally approved (after three months of hurdle-jumping!)… and we have a handfull of new listings that we’ll tell you about just around the bend. We weren’t expecting 2010 to jump into high gear so fast… but it looks like January 2010 is off to a fast start in Miami. Good news for Real Estate!
Miami is home to a number of major corporate employers… and with an unemployment rate hovering around 1% … that rather favorably impacts the local real estate market. The Top Corporate Employers in Miami as of January 2010 include several very familiar BIG names: Publix, Baptist HealthSouth, Port of Miami, University of Miami,American Airlines, Precision Response Corporation, Bell South, Winn-Dixie, Florida Power & Light, Carnival Cruise Lines, Macy’s, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Children’s Hospital. Miami International Airport and the Port of Miami have literally put South Florida at the forefront of international trade and commerce … as a hub for international travel…. and both continue to bring in visitors (and future residents) from across the globe.
