There is NO state income tax in the state of  Florida.  

Florida does charge a sales tax though …   And  there is a tangible  tax  as well as an intangible property tax in the state of Florida.

And that leads me into taxes on leased property:  Residential leases of six months or less are taxable at 7% … ( in the same vein as a hotel or resort would charge a tax).   However, taxes do not apply to leases that are for a period longer than 6 months.   (A lease that’s  6 months plus one day, or longer,  is not taxed.)
