According to the National Association of Realtors, pending home sales are up from one year ago, although they declined in July. The West shows the highest level of activity in the nation and didn’t decline in July. This information is based on contracts, not actual closed sales.
In our region, the South, pending sales fell 4.8% in July, but are 9.5% higher than in July of 2010. The National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) chief economist says “the underlying factors for improving sales are developing, such as rising rents, record high affordability conditions.”
