I recently discovered, after living here for 19 years, that there are different times in which Florida drivers renew their car registration. If your vehicle is under 5,000 lbs, you will renew on your birthday. If your vehicle is over 5,000 lbs, you renew in December. If your car is a company vehicle, then you renew in June.

The state requires that all new residents register within 10 days of establishing residency or within 10 days of registering for public school.
