It’s still a great time to buy a condo or single family home in Miami. In the year to year comparison, there was a decrease of 4%, with 17,597 homes sold in June compared to 18,402 homes sold in June 2010. There was also a 2% decrease in the statewide median sales price for existing homes, with a median of $138,000 in June compared to $141,200 in June 2010.
Florida’s statewide median price was approximately 1.8% higher than it wad in May of this year. Foreclosures and short sales are bringing the prices down, distorting the median price since they tend to sell at a discounted price than a standard, traditional sale homes, according to The National Association of Realtors.
