Looking to lease a house or condo for six months?  ADD A DAY!  Why? “Transient Taxes” run 13% in Miami Dade (above and beyond your lease amount… just like with HOTELS)… but there’s no transient tax if you add a day! 

In Miami a 13% TAX  applies to leases that are 6 months OR LESS (…cottages, pied-a-terre’s, condos, homes, etc.)  throughout Miami-Dade County.  Florida  tax runs 6%. Miami-Dade tax runs 7% . (13% in total) .  

County taxes vary …. but in Miami you’re looking at  7% …  plus a 6% Florida tax (13% total) for leases/rentals LESS THAN 6 MONTHS .  Since there is NO TAX on leases greater than 6 months… just add a day.
