The Village of Pinecrest continues to be a magnet for homebuyers relocating to South Florida. Home prices vary, ranging typically somewhere between $500,000 and $3.5 million…. although homes can (and do) reach upward of $8 million. Many homes in Pinecrest sit on acre lots.
Property values in Pinecrest jumped exponentially a decade ago. In part, that was because of the calibre of schools. Pinecrest Elementary School is considered to be one the finest elementary schools in Miami-Dade County. Top schools ,both public and private, contribute to property value increases in Pinecrest. Pinecrest extends from SW 88th Street (N. Kendall Dr) southward to SW 136 St … and from Biscayne Bay on the east over as far as US 1 (South Dixie Highway).
In 2010 there were 167 single family home sales in Pinecrest. 8 of those closed sales were of properties selling above the 3 million dollar mark. 9 single family home sales fell within the 2-3 million dollar range. 37 home purchases had contract prices of between 1-2 million dollars.
Both Pinecrest and Coral Gables have held their property values better than most, despite the devastating economic downturn that hit real estate in almost every part of the country.
