getting ready to move

Moving can be very exciting.  It can also be hectic, unnerving , and anxiety-provoking.  If you can plan ahead  (well before you might think is necessary)… it will be less stressful… and a lot more fun.

Weed out. Sort through. Get rid of whatever you DON’T want in your new home.  Have the requisite garage sale, call whichever company will come to pick up donations, and toss out anything else.

Before you even have a buyer for your house, start planning … Start with a list of everything you’re going to need to do and plan for… on both sides of the move.

Interview several moving companies by phone, and get quotes.

Jot down each of the utility companies that you’ll need to contact.

You will have various records that need to be transferred (doctors/dentists/prescription/school records/veterinary/banks).

Research online whatever you can about the neighborhood you are moving to …  The more familiar you are with your new surroundings before the move, the easier it will be to assimilate.

The day of the move, make sure you have phone numbers handy.  You’ll also need cash, snacks, and water… plane tickets and ID…  car keys, driving directions, GPS, and your cell phone.

If you’re thinking about moving … (to … or from Miami …  or anywhere else!) we can help.  Moving to any one of a number of  cities or countries worldwide?  We have a wide referral base, and would be more than happy to put you in touch with a great Realtor wherever it is that you are moving to!   Call  us.  You can reach us –  The Restivo Team – anytime on our cellulars  (305) 793-1365  or (305) 632-0164 … and… you are more than welcome to send us message here.
